The White Darkness

Lost in the shadows of her hood
Walking alone in the darkness
Stream of water running by her side
She thought maybe she should.

Thinking about the road she vowed
Didn’t want to take the path
Tired and confused
Couldn’t help but shout aloud.

Running from her own shadow
Came across a stranger soul
He took her in his arms, warmth around
Crying on his shoulder, she just couldn’t go.

Streak of light in front as she held him tight
The faint sound grew louder
Looked into his eyes for the sign
As he disappeared into the night.

Sitting on the bench, white skies so clear
Smiling at herself, happy & glad
Isn’t this what she wanted?
Everything seemed perfect now, with him near.
